Ugandans with mental illnesses could soon get better health services.
This follows the tabling of the Mental Health Bill 2014 in parliament last week.
State minister for primary health care Dr Chris Baryomunsi says the bill once finalized and passed into law will help regulate mental health services in the country.
A senior consultant psychiatrist at Butabika Hospital Dr David Basangwa says currently, mental health cases constitute 12% of the global disease burden and are projected to reach 15% by 2020.
