The Inspector General of police Martin Okoth Ochola has warned regional police commanders to stop using crime preventers at their various police stations.
Opening of a 4-day meeting of regional police commanders across the country convened at the police senior command and staff college Bwebajja, the IGP said that the crime preventers where sent to the reserve force and therefore any police commander who deploying them is making a mistake .
Ochola has vowed to punish any police commander who will be found using these crime preventers.
Last year president Museveni directed that all the crime preventers to operate under the reserve force.
