The government has directed all radios stations across the country to provide free airtime to Resident District Commission and District health officers to enable them to mobilize citizens to take covid-19 vaccination.
The minister of ICT Chris Baryomunsi says that many Ugandans are not taking up the jabs because they lack enough information about the vaccines.
He says that radio stations are thus directed to provide free airtime every Wednesday and Sunday for these leaders to be able to spell out the importance of vaccination to their residents in local languages.
He says that this will make it possible for the planned reopening of the economy next year in January.
