The government has removed all the daily parking fees and privatization of revenue collection to private entities and persons.
Addressing journalists at media center, the minister of Kampala Betty Kamya says that Parking fees that have been charged daily on vehicles have been removed and only authorized people are the ones given the task to collect other taxes per month.
She also notes that all informal daily fees on taxes and busses have been removed citing that unfair taxes charged on drivers always bring chaos among drivers and government has taken the issue to cabinet.
She adds that taxes and other fees on vehicles will not be paid in cash from, today asserting that they will be paid in the bank annually.
Meanwhile, KCCA under the executive director Jenipher Musisi had recently increased the daily parking fees from 400 to 1000 per hours, which the minister says it should stop immediately.
