Government has vowed to protect all properties of Posta Uganda amid ongoing fights with Uganda Telecom over the same.
After decentralization in 1998, Posta shared some properties with Uganda Telecom, but this later created friction over some including include Posta Uganda Buildings located along Kampala Road, Mpigi, and Mbale among other areas.
While appearing before the parliamentary select committee investigating the allege mismanagement of UTL, information minister Frank Tumwebaze said government was fully aware of these wrangles and determined to safe guard these properties.
Currently Uganda government owns a 31% stake in UTL with the Libyan government being the major shareholder.
