People behind the Karuma dam construction need to ensure value for money.
This is advice from the chairman public accounts committee of parliament after president Yoweri Museveni launched the ground breaking of the 600 Megawatt dam construction project today.
Kassiano Wadri says he has a number of reservations over the project citing the reported lack of compensation for the affected people and the disregard of the Inspector General of Government’s recommendations among other things.
He however says that now that the project has been endorsed, quality must be emphasized.
