The director of Mengo hospital, Dr. Rose Mutumba has challenged corporate companies to consider offering mental health services to their staff.
Dr. Mutumba says the Covid-19 pandemic left many people stressed, affecting their mental well-being with others having mental breakdowns.
She warns that if such employees are not supported through the provision of counseling services, the employers are likely to see reduced productivity from such employees and at worst suicide cases.
She advises employers to be keen in observing the behaviors of their staff and in case of any drastic change, such staff should be reached out to and supported.
