Educationists are concerned that the government decision to extend opening of the first school term until after elections will affect performance.
The Executive Director of Private Teachers Association Patrick Kaboyo says beginning the term two weeks late will exert pressure on learner because they will have less time to relax their minds.
Government extended the beginning of term one to 22nd February to enable parents, teachers and students of voting age to participate in the general elections.
Kaboyo has also reechoed the call for peace to ensure that all activities including teaching continue normally after February 18th.
