The Highcourt in Kampala has ordered car rally driver Andrew Desh Kananura to defend himself against allegations that he murdered his employee Badru Kateregga in 2013.
Presiding judge Joseph Murangira ruled that prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence through its 8 witnesses to warrant Dash and his 4 co-accused give an explanation of how Kateregga met his death at Panamera bar and restaurant in Naguru, owned by the 2 brothers; Desh and Raymond Kananura.
Court ordered that the accused commence with their defence statements tomorrow morning when they will even inform court on which option they will take.
While giving their evidence, an accused has 3 options from which he may choose; the first one is to swear and grant prosecution a chance to cross -examine him/her, not swear or even to keep quiet so that court reaches a final decision basing on the evidence on record.
Desh is jointly charged with his brother Raymond Kananura and 3 of their private guards with the murder of Badru Kateregga , a former employee of Panamera bar and restaurant in Naguru.
Prosecution says the 5 with malice afore thought in 2013 beat Katerrega to death for allegedly receiving a tip of shs 10000 from a bar client.
Desh and co-accused are out on bail.
