Government has instituted a seven-member committee chaired by the Trade minister, Francis Mwebesa to study and advise the government on how to promote science and innovations.
The development comes a few days after Uganda launched her first satellite into space.
According to the ICT and National Guidance minister, Chris Baryomunsi, the committee has one month to holistically study the needs of the science and technology sector and make a report before Cabinet.
The Cabinet paper will also indicate the financial implication the government will incur in funding more innovations in the science and technology sector.
