Cabinet yesterday endorsed the proposal by the Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng to close schools early for the third term due to the Ebola outbreak in the country, KFM has learnt.
Since ministers who sat yesterday at the Statehouse in Entebbe did not set the dates for the closure of schools. Sources who attended the meeting say cabinet instead advised that schools send learners home as soon as they finish their examinations.
The start of holidays will thus vary from school to school, depending on the dates they will start their examinations and when they will finish.
The source added that cabinet members asked the minister of education to ensure this is implemented.
The state minister for education, Ms. Joyce Kaducu without giving details said she will brief the press at the Uganda Media Center on the same. She revealed this yesterday before releasing the grade lll certificate examination results at the office of the president in Kampala.
