The Church of Uganda Archbishop, Dr Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has called for dialogue between the Electoral Commission and political candidates about the decision to ban campaigns in some district before the end of this week.
The commission last week suspended campaigns in over 10 districts including; Kampala, Luwero, Kabale, Mukono, Mbarara among others due to the surging numbers of covid-19.
While delivering his end of year message at his home at Namirembe this morning, Dr Kazimba said religious leaders are available to offer mediation services in case such a meeting takes place.
He meanwhile wants campaigns in the suspended districts to take place amid strict observance of standard operating procedures.
