The new Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has officially assumed office.
He takes over from Amama Mbabazi who handed the office and instruments of power this morning.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mbabazi said civil servants play a crucial role in making government efficient.
Mbabazi said he is to write about the work of the civil service to highlight the many great things they do to make government efficient.
He has also promised to be available at all times to fill in any gaps not included in his comprehensive hand over report.
The official hand over has been witnessed by the Head of Public Service John Mitala.
Meanwhile the new Premier has lauded his predecessor for his meticulous work and support for the civil public service and promised to continue to build on this foundation.
He says government will focus on energizing specific areas like agriculture and youth employment.
