The South African High Commission has today partnered with local organizations to engage in community work in commemoration of the Nelson Mandela day.
The South African High Commissioner to Uganda John Qwelane led the delegation, which included legislators and business people, who volunteered in cleaning up of Wandegeya primary school.
The exercise involved cleaning up and painting of the school buildings.
Speaking to Kfm one of the South African legislators Bhengi Hlengwe said, they chose Uganda because of her significant contribution to the ANC struggle that helped South Africa gain independence.
Some of the other partners included Coca-Cola and Sadolin paints.
The Nelson Mandela day is celebrated every 18th July, which is the birth day of the former South African president who turns 94 years today.
