The National Drug Authority (NDA)has set up strict regulations to limit the sale of drugs that induce labour for pregnant mothers.
This follows a complaint from midwives that mothers were becoming resistant to the drugs at the time when needed.
The NDA boss Dr. Gordon Sematiko says many clinics and health centers prescribe such drugs to pregnant mothers hence weakening their efficiency during labour.
He has also advised health workers to always ensure that the drugs are kept in safe storage places like refrigerators.
