The Uganda national anthem shall not be changed.
The Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi has given assurance that reports that the national anthem will not be modified, contrary to recent statements by the tourism minister, Maria Mutagamba that Shs180 million is to be spent to modify it.
The matter was raised in the House by Bulamogi County MP, Kenneth Lubogo who questioned where the demand to modify the anthem originated from.
Mbabazi however says no consultations have been made by Cabinet to make any changes hence it will remain in its current form.
