Construction of the ultra modern Nakawa-Naguru satellite town is finally set to kick-off.
President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned the project with a call on the constructors to implement the project on time and expose saboteurs.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony at the Naguru, the president has apologized for the delay in the implementation of the project, saying he was embarrassed to perform the ceremony that has been frustrated for the last eight years.
The housing project will be developed in partnership with the Irish property Company; Comer Homes Group Company based in the United Kingdom and will be implemented under the Private-Public arrangement.
It will include residential, commercial and recreational facilities among others.
The flats earmarked for displaced tenants will be completed in four years, and the rest of the facilities will take 10 years to complete.
