President Yoweri Museveni has appointed a total of 35 ambassadors and two deputies.
The new appointments as communicated by the president’s press secretary Don Wanyama have seen former Defence Minister Dr Crispus Kiyonga posted to Beijing-China as replacing Ambassador Charles Wagidoso.
The former coordinator of Intelligence Brig Ronnie Barya becomes Uganda’s ambassador to Juba.
Rtd Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza who is the NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda will remain in Bunjumbura where he has been.
Ambassador James Kinobe moves to Khartoum from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is to be replaced by James Mbahimba.
The other appointments have seen the Kyabazinga of Busoga his highness William Gabula appointed Ambassador Special duties office of the president.
Former Kilak County MP Michael Ocula and Mohammed Kezaale the DP national chairman have been named Deputy Ambassadors.
The names have been sent to parliament for consideration and approval.
