Some legislators from the NRM have warned that the party could lose support from the central region if it does not address key issues.

Addressing journalists at Parliament today, Makindye East MP, John Ssimbwa cites poor service delivery, unfulfilled pledges and lack of well planned development programmes in the region.

Ssimbwa adds that the youth, who account for over half of Uganda’s population, have been ignored, which has led to the current bickering within the youth league.

Meanwhile,  President Museveni has today met another faction of the NRM Youth in Mbarara.

The meeting was meant to resolve the current wrangling that has plagued the party youth leadership.

Last week NRM youth in Kampala ousted their leader, Adam Luzindana, accusing him of supporting the supposed presidential bid of Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi.

This is contrary to the Kyankwazi resolution that endorsed president Museveni as the sole party flag bearer for the 2016 polls.

The Youth were  led by the central Youth MP Patrick Nakabale.

Earlier, another group of NRM youth stormed the party headquarters located along Kyaddondo road in protest of the ongoing fights within the party.
