President Yoweri Museveni has donated Shs200m towards construction of All saints Church in Kabale town.
This comes just a week after about 20- pro -Amama Mbabazi (former Prime Minister) youths dressed in t-shirts bearing his portraits delivered Shs600,000 as contribution towards construction of the same church.
The chairman All Saints Church construction committee Benjamin Mayanja announced President Museveni’s contribution during a church service this morning saying it was a big boost to the church project.
Mayanja says construction of the 4500- capacity Church started in December 2012 at an estimated cost of Shs3bn and the remaining work requires Shs1bn.
“I am glad to inform you that through the efforts of our bishop Rt Rev George Bagamuhunda and the Uganda Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, president Museveni has contributed Shs200m= towards the construction of our church. I am also pleased to inform you that King Ceaser Augustus Mulenga from Kisoro district has contributed a total of 800 roman tile iron sheets required for the roofing of our church. Each roman tile iron sheet costs about Shs55,000=. Join me as we thank God for these generous contributions,” Mr Mayanja said.
Some Christians have hailed the pro-Amama Mbabazi youths for their contribution arguing that it motivated president Museveni to make a substantial contribution for their church project.
