President Museveni has attacked European donors over the multiple conditions attached to their aid.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Entebbe Express Highway, Museveni challenged the Europeans to emulate the Chinese; whose aid he says has no strings attached.

He likened to European donors to a poor person, who after offering a gift will remind you of the same endless times. At the same ceremony, President Museveni also blasted MP Medard Ssegona, after the latter renewed demands for the return of Buganda Kingdom properties.

Ssegona asserted that Buganda needs its assets as well as the billions of shillings owed by government in accumulated rent fees for occupation of its properties.

Museveni hit back at the MP, saying he didn’t need preaching about a kingdom he restored.

He questioned the relevance of MP Ssegona at the function, saying his presence was not necessary for development to take place in the area.

President Museveni further challenged Ssegona to contribute towards national building and give up what he termed “nonsensical politics”.

He promised the people of Nsangi that clean water would be extended to the area and that the town would be elevated to Town council status.

The function was held at Kaboja, in Nsangi sub-county and the express highway is to be constructed with support from the Chinese government worth $477m.
