President Museveni, who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces has made changes in the Uganda People’s Defence Air Forces (UPDAF).
According to the changes announced by the UPDF spokesperson. Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye, the president has promoted Maj. Gen. Charles Okidi to Lt. Gen. and appointed him Commander of Air Forces.
The president has also appointed Lt. Gen. Charles Lutaaya as senior presidential advisor on matters of the Air Forces.
Meanwhile, Lt Col Stephen Kiggundu has also been promoted to Brig. Gen. and appointed Deputy Command Air Forces.
Lt. Gen. Okidi is a long-time presidential pilot, concurrently with his military duties.
He has previously served as the Air Force Wing Commander, Nakasongola Air Force base, and before that he was at the Air Force Wing, Entebbe Air force base.
Prior to that, he was a Squadron Commander and Officer Commanding Operations at Entebbe Air Force Wing.
