As parliament’s committee on Defence and Internal Affairs enters Day two of its hearing into Kasese clashes, Kawempe South MP Mubaraka Munyagwa has cast doubt on the quality of evidence presented by state security organs.
Munyagwa alleges that the officers including the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Katumba Wamala who has appeared before the committee this afternoon appear to have been coached with an aim of concealing information.
Munyagwa has also threatened to come up with a minority report, whose merits he has declined to reveal to the media.
Meanwhile, Gen. Katumba declined to speak to the media about the allegations and instead referred journalists to the committee Chairperson Judith Nabakooba who also remains out of reach.
The committee is currently probing senior police officers including the deputy Inspector General of Police Edward Ochom, the minister of Internal Affairs Jeje Odong and his security counterpart Henry Tumukunde.
