Hundreds of patients have been left stranded after the only CT scan at Mulago hospital broke down again.
25-year old Jennifer Namwebe says she is left with no option but to stick around with hope that the machine will be fixed soon to work on her three year old girl who is suspected to have suffered brain damage.
Unlike other patients that have now been transferred to other hospitals like Namirembe and Rubaga among others, Namwebe has spent three weeks at the hospital.
Mulago hospital remains a preferred option for many because patients are charged 120,000 shillings compared private hospitals that charge between 250,000 and 300,000 for the same facility.
The hospital’s spokesperson Enock Kusaasira has however dismissed reports of the break down, explaining that it is simply being serviced, a process that takes only 24, hours but according to patients the machine has been down for almost three months.
