Mulago national referral hospital requires 18 more incubators to enable it handle the increasing numbers of premature babies.
Dr. Jamiru Mugalu says only 13 out of the 24 incubators in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit are functional.
He explains that these cannot handle the 80 to 135 premature babies received on a daily basis.
Dr.Mugalu says sometimes they are forced to put two babies in one incubator and some in chairs.
