Makerere University has suspended until further notice three students for allegedly threatening to disrupt activities at the university over tuition increment.
In three letters dated August 6th, the vice chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangye accuses the three students; Daniel Kituno, Samuel Kigula and Jobs Dhabona for circulating provocative messages on social media calling for defiance over the university activities.
Nawangye also faults the trio for holding an illegal demonstration during which they disrupted the Guild representative council meeting causing danger to the lives of the participants and destroying university property.
He has meanwhile directed the university chief security officer to commence criminal proceedings against the trio and ensure they immediately vacate the university premises.
