Makerere University Vice Chancellor Search committee has started interviewing candidates for the institutions top job.

The term for the incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof Ddumba Ssentamu expires on August 31 thus the Search Committee must find his suitable replacement before then.

The committee is said to have already interviewed three candidates including former VC and presidential candidate Prof Venasius Baryamureeba, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, current Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and Prof Edward Kirumira, Principle College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

When contacted, the chairperson of the search committee Irene Ovongi-Odida confirmed that the interviews had kicked and promised to provide more information by close of the week.
