The death toll from the Bulambuli mudslides has risen to 28.
The mudslides hit sip sub county last night following the heavy down pour and it is feared that many more people remain trapped under the mud.
The state minister for disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru says many other people sustained injuries, while others urgently need to be relocated.
Echweru says government has sent 2trucks of relief food and other assorted item to help the survivors but adds that the many people who remain at risk have to be evacuated.
He says government is working together together with the Red Cross to help the affected people.
