Ten-time Stanbic Uganda Cup winners KCCA, who last hoisted the prestigious trophy in 2018, arrived in Zombo nearly four days ahead of Wednesday’s Round of 32 clash against little-known Arua based side Kuluva Rainbow, determined to avoid an upset that could seal an already miserable season. Abdallah Mubiru’s side has endured a torrid league campaign, languishing in eighth place on 24 points from 17 matches— a staggering 16 points behind runaway leaders Vipers.

With a paltry 16 goals scored in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, KCCA’s attacking frailties have been glaring, but they cannot afford to drag their goal-scoring struggles into today’s Uganda Cup tie against a potential banana skin opponent they barely know. Read more
