MPs To Surrender IPads

Reporter | April 20, 2016

Members of the 9th parliament who lost their seats will have to surrender their IPads.

Parliament spent about a billion shillings in 2013 on procuring of iPads for all members of parliament.

Speaking during a training workshop for journalists accredited to cover the 10th parliament Dr. Robert Tumukwasibwe from the Clerk’s department said these are parliament property and must be surrendered.

He however says while the Ipads were purchased to reduce on printing and other stationery expenses, elimination of papers will take some time since some MPs have not mastered the use of such gudgets.
