Members of Parliament from the disaster prone areas are set to move a motion on the floor of parliament.
The group is seeking to compel government to quickly respond to the drought and famine that have hit some parts of the country.
The MPs led by Sam Okuonzi, Mike Mukula and Emmanuel Dombo say that most areas in the North, North Eastern and Western parts of the country have been affected with some deaths already reported.
Mukula says they want government to allocate emergency resources to respond the problem in the short and long term.
In Karamoja sub region alone, over 40 people are said to have died due to hunger.
Meanwhile,
Government is looking for long term solutions to the problem of food insecurity.
This follows a revelation that over 500,000 people in 60 districts are at risk of starvation caused by the prolonged dry spell.
According to the Director Emergency Relief Operation General Julius Oketta, giving food aid without providing farming logistics is not sustainable and does not give a holistic solution to the hunger situation.
Oketa says the Office of the Prime Minister intends to coordinate with Ministry of Agriculture to provide tractors and other farm implements to the affected populations.
