Reports of corruption within the top leadership of the police force have prompted the MPs to summon the police chief.
General Kale Kayihura is required to appear before the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs committee next week together with Grace Akulo, the director CIID.
This follows today’s media reports indicating that the police had been bribed to drop investigations into the 165bn pension scam case.
The committee chairperson Stephen Tashobya has told journalists at parliament that the reports are disturbing and so the leaders must appear and clarify the matter.
The money in question is said to have been lost in payment to ghost pensioners.
