Members of Parliament continue to mount pressure on ministers Kidhu Makubuya and Syda Bumba to resign, as their censure from office becomes imminent.
The 2 are being held accountable for the inflated 160 billion shillings paid to tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba, as compensation for cancellation of tenders for management of city markets.
The ministers were disowned by President Museveni, who says the money should be recovered.
Addressing a joint press conference at Parliament, 15 MPs said the required signatures for the censure of the ministers have been acquired.
They are asking the ministers to do the honorable thing and resign and not wait for the censure.
The MPs at the briefing included Abdu Katuntu, Peter Ogwal, Sangay Tana, Vincent Kyamadidi and Mohammed Nsereko.
The others are Theodore Sekikubo, Hamson Obua, Rosemary Seninde and Betty Namboze among others.
The MPs say the actions of the ministers amount to abuse of office and they should be held accountable.
