Masaka Municipality Member of Parliament Mathias Mpuuga has called upon teachers to join the fight against homosexuality in schools.
He made the call while officiating at the Masaka Municipality Teachers day celebration at over the weekend.
He says that teachers are known to be agents of change and transformers of society asking them to use this special position to help pupils in schools address social behavior challenges especially the vulnerable adolescents.
He says that many pupils and students from poor socio-economic backgrounds have been recruited into homosexuality in the name of sponsorship.
Mpuuga says that the biggest challenge of the time affecting schools is homosexuality adding that the rate at which homosexuality is spreading needs to be checked and this can only be done by teachers because they spend more time with children.
