Mores support needed for women in business

David Kugonza | October 5, 2016

The government has expressed concern over the high rate of failing businesses owned by women.

Commissioner in charge of domestic trade Raymond Agaba says while many women have attempted to startup businesses, often times, they collapse in a very short time

He now says there is need to empower women with business skills and finances to be able to efficiently sustain their businesses.

He also says men have a role to play in the empowerment of women

Meanwhile UNDP senior economist Yemesrach Workie at the same function challenged the private sector to embrace the gender equality seal to bridge the gender gap.
