The number of people under surveillance for Marburg has risen to 97.
This is after the Ministry of health surveillance team added to the list 17 other people who had contact with a confirmed case.
These include 16 people from Kampala and one from Kasese districts.
According to the Head of Surveillance Dr. Issa Makumbi, the ministry continues to closely monitor all the suspected cases after a fatal case of the Hemorrhagic fever was confirmed at Mengo hospital.
Meanwhile, results of samples taken from the deceased’s brother are yet to be released by the Uganda Virus Research Institute.
The results had been expected this afternoon but this was not possible as more samples have been taken for further examination.
The ministry is also conducting training for health workers at Mengo hospital on how to handle Marburg cases.
