Ministry of internal affairs is working to further strengthen the security features of the new passports.
This comes at a time concerns have been raised about cases of foreigners having Ugandan passports.
The ministry’s spokesperson Simon Mundeyi says the current upgrade of the passport production system has integrated the Automatic Fingure Integration System which is expected to help deal with passport duplication.
He also explains that one seeking to renew a passport is expected to appear in person so that their biometric data is captured.
