The minister for health, Doctor Jane Ruth Acheng has warned the public and dismissed rumors that after vaccination, people will not be infected by the virus.
She says vaccination will not protect a person from the severe diseases brought by the virus.
It’s on this note she has asked Ugandans and the public at large to continue following the SOPs to fight the pandemic.
According to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a vaccine is a vital tool in the global fight against coronavirus but it won’t end the Covid-19 pandemic on its own.
He has cautioned the public to learn how to manage the virus and make permanent adjustments to their daily lives to bring the virus down to low levels and this is by following the world health organization guidelines together with this of the ministry of health.
COVID-19 vaccination in Uganda is expected to start on March 10th.
