Minister Clears UPDF On Claims Of Supply Of Fake Seeds

The ministry of agriculture has exonerated Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) on the allegation of supplying fake seeds to farmers under the Operation Wealth Creation.
The UPDF has been accused of supplying seeds that failed germinate with many farmers predicting low harvests this season.
However, the state minister for agriculture Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja has told journalists that the role of the UPDF in this operation is to ensure supply but not quality.
He adds that they have now tasked the department of crop inspection and certification to close that gap by not allow in seeds with less than 95% germination capacity.
