Police in Buikwe district is investigating circumstances under which a mentally ill woman allegedly stabbed her two-year-old baby dead.

Hellen Butoto, the Sezibwa region police spokesperson says last night, the 30-year-old suspect while at Kisaala village, Buikwe sub-county in Buikwe District picked her biological daughter, one Sylvia Kizza 2 years, and took her inside her mother’s house, a one Robinah Nalukwago from where she allegedly murdered the minor.

According to preliminary investigations, she used a sharp object and cut the girl by the neck.

Meanwhile, police say the suspect is being examined to cross-check her mental state.
