Members of Parliament have received Ipads.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has today handed over Ipads to legislators in a move aimed at cutting costs on stationary and reduce the load on paper documents.
Kadaga says the Ipads, which cost Parliament 976 million, will go a long way in reducing time wastage, as well as help legislators carry out research and get information before attending House sessions and committees.
A total of 386 MPs including 11 ex-officios, will each get an iPad, each costing about Shs2.5m and will be supplied by M/s Elite Computers (U) Ltd.
