Lawyers representing the Go Forward Candidate Amama Mbabazi are considering legal action against opponents who disrupt their client’s rallies.
Reports of Mbabazi’s posters being brought down have emerged in different areas where he has been holding rallies.
Yesterday Retired Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde is said to have gone to the venue of Mbabazi’s rally in Fort portal with a chopper bearing posters of NRM flag bearer Yoweri Museveni.
Led by Fred Muwema, the lawyers say such disruptions are illegal since their client is holding rallies in areas gazetted to him by the electoral commission.
He says they have on many occasions written to the electoral commission about the disruptions but received no response.
He says they will now write one final time and if no action is taken they will proceed to the courts of law.
Among the electoral commission regulations for the 2016 presidential elections, there should be no counter rallies in the same area.
Mbabazi is yet to address a news conference in Kabarole before heading to Kasese where he will hold a rally later this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni continues to comb areas of West Nile with a rally in Koboko north set to kick off any time from now.
The crowds have already gathered waiting for the candidate. The FDC’s Dr. Kiiza Besigye is also in Pallisa spreading the gospel of change.
