Over 223 people have perished in road accidents between May1st and June 18th, while over 780 are still nursing wounds.
Speaking to media today, the traffic police spokesperson Charles Ssebambulide said in May alone 707 accidents were registered with 170 deaths across the country, while in June 74 accidents occurred with 53 deaths registered.
He says 60 of the deaths involved boda boda riders, while 85 were pedestrians.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that recklessness and drink driving are responsible for this trend.
