Heavy rains have taken a toll on the Masaka- Bukomansimbi- Sembabule road leading to its closure after sections of it were washed away.
The road has now been cordoned off by the police and it is under tight security to prevent accidents in areas where bits of it have been washed away.
The DPC Bukomansimbi Micheal Ongana says the decision was taken after vehicle was swept away into river Namajuzi that separates Kalungu and Bukomansimbi districts.
He says rescue efforts are currently underway to try and save the lives of the occupants of ill- fated vehicle.
