Another suspected Marburg case is admitted at Mulago hospital’s isolation camp.
The Hospital spokesperson Enock Kusaasira says the patient was brought in yesterday and was immediately isolated together with two other suspected cases admitted earlier
Earlier today, surveillance was heightened at Lacor Hospital in Gulu district after a suspected Marburg case was admitted at the facility.
Hospital director, Dr. Cyprian Opira said the suspected patient had been put in the isolation unit for close supervision as they await test results from the Uganda Virus Research.
At the time of the admission, the suspect had severe headache, fever, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea.
Health workers have now been advised to make use of the available protective gear to prevent further spread of the virus.
Late last month, a health worker at Mengo hospital died of Marburg and five people remain in isolation.
