Police in Isingiro District have in custody a 28-year-old man who allegedly cut to death his brother Joshua Abasa, 16, over an shs 5,000 debt.

According to police, the suspect who now faces murder charges picked a panga, cut his brother to death, then dragged the body and dumped it at his house.

Police say they have noticed that child abuse is often concealed by parents and guardians.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson says children are particularly vulnerable and told to keep family matters private something he says must stop as this may escalate into depression for the minors and drug abuse.

In another incident Wakiso district has put up a serious manhunt for a 15-year-old, male juvenile, a pupil of Mabombwe Church of Uganda, Nursery and Primary School, for the alleged murder of his sister, Namubiru Desire, 4, at their home in Mabombwe Kirudu village, Mende sub-county in Wakiso district.

The victim had injuries on the forehead, face, arms, stomach, back, and legs.
