The High Court in Masaka has sentenced a man to 50 years in jail over the murder of his ex-lover.
Richard Mwanje, a resident of Ndejje pleaded guilty to the killing his ex-pregnant lover Clare Nantege Kawuma, who was a 2nd year Student at Uganda Marty’s University Nkozi.
Court had that Mwanje hurled a huge stone at the deceased head killing her instantly, accusing her of being impregnated by someone else.
He is said to have stolen 1 million shillings and 3 mobile phones, which the police used to track him down.
A post mortem report indicated that the deceased was 6 months pregnant at the time of her death.
Justice Elizabeth Ibanda Nahame has sentenced him to 50 years in jail, condemning the cruel act.
