Maize Farmers across the country have been urged not to sell their maize below Shs 500.
This came from the finance minister Matia Kasaija as he announced government’s intervention following a drop in the price of maize to 200 shillings.
Addressing journalists at the media center, Kasaija said 100 bn shillings has been provided and it will be given to maize traders at a 15% interest rate to enable them buy the produce from farmers.
