The much anticipated peace deal between M23 and the DRC government is finally set to be signed this afternoon.

This has been confirmed by the UPDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda.

It comes days after the M23 Commander Sultani Makenga surrendered together with 1,700 other combatants.

Ankunda says the peace deal to be signed at state house Entebbe is expected to bring to an end the 20 month uprising that has displaced close to 800,000 people.
