Lwengo District Authorities have warned residents without pit latrines to dig them up or else they risk being arrested.

The warning has been made by Kingo Sub county chairperson Dick Muwanga, while inspecting government projects in his area.

Muwanga says that a big number of residents in Kingo Sub County are living without pit latrines which he says that puts their lives at a risk of being affected by diseases related to poor hygiene.

Muwanga says that they are going to start conducting operations to arrest all residents without pit latrines because they cannot just sit back and watch when residents are dying of diseases related to poor sanitation.

He also warned land lords that operate rental houses in Kingo without latrines to dig them up or else they risk being arrested.
